'The Island' grew from my desire to explore philosophy and animation through an interactive form. I built an imaginary ecosystem inviting players to engage with ideas of cause and effect, and influence. Moving away from achievements or winning, the game offers a contemplative visual experience encouraging deep observation and exploration through simple clicks.
The game world is entirely illustrated and animated using hand-drawn, frame-by-frame animation
(275 animations and over 4,800 frames)

Initial sketches were drawn by hand in a sketchbook. Final illustrations and frame-by-frame animations were created digitally on an iPad using Procreate.
The world is presented through multiple perspectives, framed within different panels, where actions in one panel affect the others. Players explore a world shaped by cause and effect, discovering how each action reshapes the system and allows new growth to emerge.
